Main Objective
As a Bolting and Torquing Technician at SGHCL, you will carry out hydraulic torquing, bolt tensioning, and flange assembly work on client sites and in the workshop, ensuring every joint is assembled to procedure, correctly inspected, and delivered leak-free.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble flange joints in line with approved procedures
- Perform hydraulic torquing and bolt tensioning to specified sequences
- Follow cross-pattern and star tightening sequences and maintain accurate torque records
- Inspect fasteners for thread, stud, nut, washer, gasket, and flange face condition, and report damaged components
- Ensure joint cleanliness and leak-free assembly on every joint
- Inspect and maintain calibrated tools before and after use
Required Skills
- 3–5 years of experience in hydraulic torquing, bolt tensioning, and flange assembly
- Experience in shutdown maintenance, turnarounds, refineries, or petrochemical plants is preferred
- ECITB MJI 10 and 18, or equivalent, is preferred
- OSHA 10, H₂S, Confined Space, Working at Heights, Permit to Work, and LOTO certifications
- Practical skill in gasket handling, bolt lubrication, torque verification, and joint cleanliness
- Working understanding of thread, stud, nut, washer, gasket, and flange face inspection
- Experience operating hydraulic torque wrenches, bolt tensioners, hydraulic pumps, torque multipliers, manual torque wrenches, and pressure gauges
- Experience in KSA or Gulf countries is an advantage
Education
- Diploma, technical certificate, or ITI/Fitter/Mechanical qualification
